A lot to digest this episode. First, Layfon’s lover from the first episode meets a disguised queen in the park one day and suddenly starts shedding tears as though she had met her destined one; the queen immediately grabs the girl’s boobs to solidify their new friendship. Next, some Deatheaters from Harry Potter decided to drop by the engineering room to try steal the electronic fairy (who eerily looks like Nunnaly with her eyes opened) which was powering the city, but got stopped in their tracks by a random dude who drops in from nowhere.
We also suddenly get a weird flashback(?) near the end of the episode where Neo from the Matrix rescues an experimented-on loli clad in a long-sleeved shirt and they proceed to have a lively conversation in fabulous Engrish with the girl sounding like she’s 20.
And this is all just in the 3rd episode. WOW. Did I miss an episode or something? Or are they trying to accommodate as much source material as possible in these 13 episodes? Well, at least Layfon gets to be called “Fon-Fon” by telepathic loli Felli.

Seriously, what kind of idiot asks this kind of question when your teacher is beating the shit out of a little girl in front of you???? It’s bad enough that Keita is reimagined as an emo highschool student, but I didn’t think they’d also make his skull thickheaded. Maybe when his mom got hit by the car when he was younger, mommy’s body rebounded off his skull. That would explain why he’s so slow on the uptake.

So thanks to a bunch of online protests from uptight Koreans who were upset about the anthropomorphization of their country in a webcomic, the only TV station that was supposed to air the upcoming anime series it has cancelled its airing, EVEN THOUGH THEIR CHARACTER ISN’T EVEN IN THE ANIME.
Does anybody realize how stupidly insane this is?
At least we might get an online airing via Animate.tv.

January 14th is Rukia Kuchiki’s birthday, which also happens to be mine as well. How cool is that? I wonder how old is she now in Soul Society compared to human society? Anyway, it’s been a while since I last read Bleach, so maybe once the Vizoreds appear in the current arc I’ll return to the series.

January is a lousy month for games. Most AAA titles are released during Christmas or the month before, and with all the mega titles already out, this month is proving to be a ‘meh’ month for games. But at least I’ve more time to finish the games that I’ve yet to complete let alone start - I’ve finished Fallout 3, and I want to complete GTAIV.
The upcoming Chinese New Year break means I’ve to rush the magazine earlier, and I’m trying to clear as much as I can before I leave for China next week for a friend’s wedding dinner.

So I finally finished Fallout 3 last night. My final thoughts?
“Is that it?”
Wow, talk about underwhelming. I don’t care so much about my character dying in the end. I know some sites and many gamers have complained about the ending feeling that they had a proverbial gun pointed at their head when they were asked to make the decision about entering the airlock chamber alone. No, I don’t mind dying. I’ve played enough JRPGs and watched enough anime/movies where the hero sacrifices himself for the betterment of humankind and his loved ones. I was kinda expecting this kind of ending.
What I’m more upset about is that the ending feels disappointingly shallow. Continue Reading »

Burnout Paradise is easily one of the best racing games of 2008, and we’re looking forward to its PC incarnation next month. Taiwanese motherboard company Elitegroup Computer Systems appears to be equally excited too, which may explain the rather obvious “homage” of the game on the box cover of one of their latest motherboards.
The similarity is quite uncanny, don’t you think?

It’s the Year of the Ox and according to my horoscope, I’m going to have a fantastic year. ^_^ Probably the only disappointing news that I learned from Kurogane was that Aya Hirano has already left the country…sigh, and I had even printed an interview request letter for her. Oh well, I guess there could be another time - she did leave the country with a fairly positive impression, so maybe she might return again some day.
I’m gonna chill out today and enjoy a nice simple lunch with my friend. Probably do some grocery shopping as well as catch up on the anime series that’s currently on my backlog.
